honored matres: an aristocratic and despotic community of dorian grays~ omg just imagine what society would be like under such a ruling.
Narnia!!! ahhhh this is. ok cannot. repress.
i think as we traverse up the ladder of aesthetic appreciation, we forget how much aesthetic value there can be in pop art too. i was quite shocked when my lit teacher told me that time that almost all fantasy novels aren't counted as "literature"... except maybe maybe LOTR. i guess there is a difference in the aesthetic levels... but still! there is so much in the crafting of... for example... a song. music and lyrics, as the movie aptly put it. words, melody, rhythm, beat, voice... how each must be so interlaced in each other and so skillfully crafted so as to elicit an emotional response. perhaps different from an aesthetic response, but still... art in its myriad forms and at its best.
